Ok, since you guys have been bugging me for a long time about the lyrics being wrong, i tried to fix it a bit using annotations. I know, not the greatest, but since you guys kept bringing it to my attention that i used the wrong lyrics, i felt the need to do something.

http://malcolmxfiles.blogspot.com/ Malcolm X appears on a television show in Chicago called "City Desk" on March 17, 1963. "My father didn't know his last name. My father got his last name from his grandfather and his grandfather got it from his grandfather who got it from the slavemaster. The real names of our people were destroyed during slavery. The last name of my forefathers was taken from them when they were brought to America and made slaves, and then the name of the slavemaster was given, which we refuse, we reject that name today and refuse it. I never acknowledge it whatsoever." http://malcolmxfiles.blogspot.com/

MSNBC has obtained a memo entitled "Action Alert - Auto Bailout," and sent Wednesday at 9:12am, to Senate Republicans. The names of the sender(s) and recipient(s) have been redacted in the copy Countdown obtained. The Los Angeles Times reported that it was circulated among Senate Republicans. The brief memo outlines internal political strategy on the bailout, including the view that defeating the bailout represents a "first shot against organized labor." Senate Republicans blocked passage of the bailout late Thursday night, over its insistence on an immediate union pay cut.

"One of Us" is a song written by Eric Bazilian (of The Hooters) and originally released by Joan Osborne. The song deals with various aspects of belief in God by asking questions inviting the listener to consider how they might relate to God, such as "Would you call [God's name] to his face?" or "Would you want to see [God's face] if seeing meant that you would have to believe?" The name of the song comes from the question contained in the refrain, "What if God was one of us?" Released in March 1995 on the album Relish (produced by Rick Chertoff), it hit the top 40 in November of the same year. With this song, Osborne received one of many Grammy nominations in 1995, including Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, but failed to win. One year later Prince covered the song for his 'Emancipation' LP. Around January 1996, "One of Us" hit the top 10. Finally in March of 1996 "One of Us" climbed to #1 on Rock On The Net's ARC Weekly Top 40 and stayed there for 2 weeks. Its peak chart position on the Billboard Hot 100 was #4.
