This tender ballad about adoption will have you reaching for a kleenex, and hopefully will make you think about adoption in a whole new way. Inspired by an interview heard on the radio with Christian recording artist Mark Schultz, this heart-wrenching song was written by Debbie L. Rice. Debbie's father was adopted, and Debbie is also the mother of a little girl adopted from China.

A Purina Pets for Pet People survey of more than 180 Adopt-A-Pet animal shelters and rescue organizations nationwide identified the Top 10 most important things adopters can do to make sure they have a positive and successful adoption experience. According to the survey, the number one step is to make a real commitment to care for the new pet for its entire life, just as they would with a child. Additional permanent adoption tips on the Top 10 list can be found at Adopt-A-Pet.com. Prospective pet owners can download the Permanent Pet Adoption Checklist and enjoy a video featuring Victoria Stilwell, author and host of "It's Me or the Dog," offering advice from the checklist as well as her own pet adoption tips. And, as a way to treat pets already in permanent homes, Purina is offering current and prospective pet owners the chance to save more than $15 on food and treats through Purina PetLover Savings coupons appearing in local newspapers. This music video shows the amazing changes that happened to a family and their adoptive daughter from Jingdezhen, China. We hope that it will inspire those who are thinking about adopting! It is truly a miracle and such a blessing from God! Make sure you watch the last few seconds, there is a special message from the special girl

This is Hank's adoption announcement. The question I've been getting the most is "Is he really Chinese?" Yes, he is. Hank has Albinism This site http://www.albinism.org/ does a much better job explaining it than I can! We were in China for 2 weeks. Hank was from the Suzhou Social Welfare Insitute (orphanage) which we were allowed to visit but we spent most of the time in the cities of Nanjing (for the China paperwork) and Guangzhou (for the U.S. paperwork). I recently had to change the sound track. It was Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel but even though I wasn't making any money off this, they still flagged the video. His song, he gets to choose so fine...I'll deal with it. You Tube has pre-approved songs so I switched it to Creed's "With arms wide open" It doesn't synch up quite as well but it's better than taking the whole video down. Enjoy!

BREAKING NEWS - As I was posting this blog, CNN.com posted a story about a Florida court that overturned a ban on gay adoption! Hurrah! Noteworthy from the article is the following excerpt: "Several organizations -- including the National Adoption Center, the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics -- have said that having gay and lesbian parents does not negatively affect children." What are your thoughts on the issue? Post a comment and let me know!

Life with Adoption as told by those who lived it.. the Mothers of adoption loss speak out. Spanning over a 40 year period, we see that the more adoption has appeared to change the more it has stayed the same - still separating babies from capable, loving mothers.. and causing much destruction in it's wake. An Origins-USA.org production.

In upgrading to my newest version of Pinnacle STudio (from 10 to 11 Ultimate) I found I could no longer access any of the movies I had created with ver 10. Something that I think Pinnacle STudio needs to address. However, I had to re-create our adoption video, which was extremeley difficult (I have been working on doing so since early this summer). It was difficult not because the program is hard to learn (it is quite easy to use and fairly intuitive) but because there has been so little time to mess with my computer. Anyway, I wanted to redo the video, and I have used some of Studio 11 Ultimate's new features. I'm really pleased with the results, and I have learned a lot more about video editing and using the program by taking some extra time to redo the video. I use the same music, but have added different transitions, extra pictures and extra video clips. I don't know how it will compare to the other two - but I'm now going to have to recreate a lot of other videos at home (which - not to worry - I'm not going to reload them!) but it will cut down on the time I have for creating new stuff. I'll try to squeeze the new in here and there. But this video turned out so good (at least in my opinion) that I had to put it up on my channel. Yeah, you could say I impressed myself. LOL! Not hard to do, though. Music: Tu Jia (Hunan Lullaby) by Beijing Angelic Choir Amarantine by Enya Watermark by Enya
